The attack on the officers occurred at a critical moment for the entire country. Mexico is hosting the World Cup, which started on Thursday at 21 in the capital of this country.
Nahuatzen is located about 300 km west of the capital. About 200 km northwest of the attack site is Guadalajara, where World Cup matches will also be held.
Despite the disturbing events of recent hours, Mexican authorities maintain that the safety of the tournament is not at risk.
