The balance of the biggest attack on Ukraine from the “Spider cloth” operation

Russia attacked several Ukrainian regions on Friday with hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles, in an attack that could foresee Moscow's revenge for the operation of Ukrainian security services on Russia's strategic aerodromes, which took place on June 1, reports CNN.

Russia launched a wave of drones and ballistic rockets on Friday morning on vast areas of Ukraine, killing at least six people and hurting dozens.

Three firefighters were killed in Kiev, two civilians in Luțk and another person was killed in Cernihiv, according to Ukraine's Emergency Service.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said that Russia used over 400 drones and 40 missiles in the attack on Thursday night to Friday, in one of the biggest attacks during the war. 80 people were injured in these bombings that targeted “almost all” Ukraine, nine regions being attacked, from Lvi to West to Sum in the northeast.

Although Russia bombard Ukraine almost daily, the Ukrainians were preparing for possible reprisals since Sunday, when Kiev launched a bold operation that affected one third of Russia's cruise missiles.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the attacks were a reaction to what he called “terrorist acts” of Kiev. It is not clear immediately if this kind of attack reflects the maximum measure of the reprisals promised by Russia or if Putin intends to escalate the conflict even more. In fact, after the humiliating operation of Kiev, pro-Kremlin experts launched in a belico call choir for a very hard, even nuclear response.

Concerns about potential Russia's reprisals

Although the Moral of the Ukrainians increased last weekend as a result of the news about Kiev's successful operation, many of them think with concern about how Russia could respond. However, Kiev residents have told CNN that they support Ukraine's attacks on the planes that Moscow has used to bomb Ukraine for more than three years.

“It has not broken us. Moral is as high as before. We believe in our armed forces,” said Olha, a 39-year-old woman, who did not want to reveal her last name.

She said that apparent “reprisals” on Russia was not too different from countless other nights. “Maybe (these were the reprisals or maybe the reprisals are just coming. In any case, this does not change our attitude towards the enemy or towards our country.”

Meanwhile, the General Staff of Ukraine said on Friday that it has launched nocturnal attacks on two Russian aerodromes, where, according to him, Moscow has focused many of the aircraft that were protected by the “spider web”.

Ukraine stressed that the operation, which surprised the Kremlin, targeted the planes that Russia uses to launch rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities. Following the large -scale attack on Russia on Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiha, said Moscow “answered” “attacking civilians in Ukraine again.”

A 452 drone and rocket attack

The Ukrainian air forces said that the Russian dam included 407 drones, six ballistic missiles, 38 cruise missiles and a rocket missile. Of the 452 projectiles launched, 406 were shot down, including 32 cruise missiles and four ballistic missiles. The other two ballistic missiles did not reach their targets, they added.

The attacks also hit the city of Cernihiv, located near the border with Belarus, which was shaken by 14 explosions caused by drones and ballistic missiles, including cruise missiles and iskander rockets, local officials said. Five other people were injured in the attacks in the city of Luțk, located in the northwest of the country, near the border with Poland. CNN's geolocalized images have shown that at least four missiles hit the city, causing explosions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said he had intercepted and destroyed 174 Ukrainian drones between Thursday and Friday morning, and three Ukrainian guided missiles were shot down above the Black Sea.

Vladimir Putin told Donald Trump that Russia will respond to Ukrainian attack

On Tuesday, Ukraine launched an attack on the Kerci Bridge, the only direct connection between Russia and the annexed Crimea Peninsula, hitting one of the pillars of the bridge with 1,100 kilograms of explosives underwater.

After the telephone conversation he had with Putin Wednesday, Trump said his Russian counterpart told him that Moscow is obliged to respond to Ukraine's attacks. Trump's account of the conversation did not give any indication that he would have urged Putin to temper his response, to the disappointment of many in Ukraine.

“When Putin mentioned that he will avenge or launch a new attack on Ukraine, we know what this means. It's about civilians,” Ukrainian deputy Oleksandr Merejko told CNN. “And President Trump did not say,” Vladimir, stop. “

Despite the support given by Trump to the recent peace negotiations from Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia, on Thursday he understood that he could adopt a less interventionist approach, comparing the war with a beat between children.

“Sometimes we see two small children who fight like crazy,” Trump said in the Oval Office “hate each other, and fight in a park, and you try to separate them. They do not want to be separated. Sometimes it is better to let them fight for a while before breaking them.”
