Cristian Pomohaci remains in preventive detention. The Târgu Mureș Court of Appeal rejected his appeal in the drug trafficking case
Popular music singer and former priest Cristian Pomohaci remains in pretrial detention, after the Târgu Mureș Court of Appeal rejected, on Wednesday, the appeal against the arrest warrant issued in the case in which he is being investigated for high-risk drug trafficking.

According to the court portal, the magistrates upheld the decision of the Mureș Court of June 5 and forced the defendant to pay court costs.
“Rejects as unfounded the appeal filed by the defendant PCD against criminal decision No. 45/DL of June 5, 2026, pronounced by the Judge of Rights and Freedoms of the Mureş Court (…). Maintains the challenged decision. (…) Forces the defendant-appellant to pay the sum of 200 lei, representing the legal expenses advanced by the state in the case. Definitive”, it is stated in the decision of the Court of Appeal Târgu Mureș.
The case is being handled by the policemen of the Târgu Mureș Organized Crime Brigade, together with DIICOT prosecutors – Târgu Mureș Territorial Service.
The investigators claim that, in the period 2024-2026, Cristian Pomohaci would have procured, possessed and made available to several people high-risk drugs for consumption.
“From the evidence administered, it emerged that, in the period between 2024 and 2026, the person under investigation (…) would have procured, possessed and made available to several people, for consumption, different quantities of high-risk drugs, in the form of crystalline substances”, previously sent the representatives of the Mureș County Police Inspectorate.
Following a search of his home in the municipality of Târgu Mureș, the law enforcement officers discovered a quantity of the high-risk drug 3-CMC, as well as other evidence. Also, judicial sources stated that an amount of almost two million euros in different currencies was also identified.
On June 5, the Mureș Court accepted the DIICOT prosecutors' proposal and ordered the preventive arrest of Cristian Pomohaci for a period of 30 days.
However, the former priest is under the attention of investigators and in another criminal case. The Mureș Court on Wednesday postponed to Thursday the ruling on the appeal filed by Pomohaci against another preventive arrest warrant issued in his name, in the file in which he is being investigated for rape of a minor and sexual assault.
According to the prosecutors, the investigations in the drug trafficking file were carried out in parallel with the investigation targeting Pomohaci for the crimes of rape and sexual assault on a minor, a case in which he is already under preventive measures.
