There are more overweight people in Russia. And men get fat before women — Rosstat
The share of Russians carrying extra pounds at the pre-obesity level increased from 40% in 2018 to almost 44% in 2023.
The greatest “gain” occurred in men. If in 2018 every third person (34%) had normal weight, now it is 31%. The proportion of men carrying extra pounds (pre-obesity) increased from 46.9 to 52.4%.
Men get fat before women, according to Rosstat data. In women, the proportion of those who are overweight begins to exceed the proportion of those who are of normal weight at the age of 45-49 years, and in men much earlier – at 30-34 years.
