After the relegation from the Superliga, Hermannstadt parted with 7 players. The team from Sibiu reached League 2 after losing the retention/promotion barrier with FC Voluntari, score 3-5 overall.

With Dorinel Munteanu on the technical bench, Hermannstadt won the round-robin leg played on home soil with a score of 3-2, but the return from Voluntari was lost by the Sibiu team due to a no-show score.

Meanwhile, “Neamțul” was officially presented as the new coach of CSM Reșita, a team also in League 2. Also, president Daniel Niculae left Hermannstadt.

Hermannstadt part ways with 7 players after relegation to League 2

After the relegation to League 2, Hermannstadt parted ways with 7 players at the end of their contracts, according to oradesibiu.ro. Dennis Politic, a player on loan from FCSB in the second part of the previous season, will return to his team.

In addition to Politic, Vlad Muțiu, Saeed Issah, Tiberiu Căpusă, Sergiu Bus, Aurelian Chițu and Aviel Zargary will also leave Hermannstadt.

Aurelian Chițu has already signed with Poli Timișoara, a team that has been promoted to League 2 and is forcing access to the first echelon.

According to the previously cited source, the other players still under contract with Hermannstadt will most likely discuss the amicable termination.

Dennis Politic, uncertain future at FCSB

Since arriving at Hermannstadt this winter, Dennis Politic has made just 6 Superliga appearances for the Siberian outfit. Politic was brought by FCSB in the summer of 2025 from rival Dinamo, after Gigi Becali, in addition to the million euros paid, sent Alexandru Musi to the other camp.

I don't know, I have no idea what he does. He's injured, I don't know. He's still our player, but he's injured so he can't play. How to terminate? I gave almost two million on it! That's it, I was fooled. I also gave blows, that's it!
