Jude Bellingham has missed the opening months of this season at Real Madrid after undergoing shoulder surgery in the summer to correct the problem that had been bothering him. Ever since his time at Dortmund, doctors had been advising him to undergo surgery, but he did not want to miss a long period of time on the field.

The England attacking midfielder believes he made a huge mistake not seeking surgery sooner, recalling the moment he dislocated his shoulder against Rayo Vallecano. “It all started on the day of the match against Rayo. It was the most painful feeling I had ever experienced up to that point – I had never felt so much pain.
It felt like an eternity before they put it back on, and it was only 90 seconds from the time they walked onto the field until it was back in place. Previously, I could put it back on myself whenever it dislocated,” said Jude Bellingham, according to sportal.gr.
He also did not hide the fact that the fear of another shoulder injury prevented him from pushing himself and performing at the highest possible level.
“The shoulder injury had a big impact on the rest of my body. I wasn't in a lot of pain, but playing knowing that if I went down it could happen again meant I couldn't be at my best.”
