Donald Trump is disillusioning an important ally. It's about the war with Iran

On Sunday evening, the conflict in the Middle East escalated. Iran fired several rockets towards Israel. Sirens blared and the air defense system worked. Tehran called the attack a “warning”, and Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel's minister of internal security, said that “Tehran must burn tonight!”

Iran's attack is intended to be a response to Israel's aggressive actions a few hours earlier. Israeli forces attacked the southern suburbs of Beirut on Sunday, targeting Hezbollah “command centers.”

Donald Trump dispels illusions. “I make the decisions”

Despite the escalation, continuous efforts are underway to lead to a diplomatic solution to the conflict in the Middle East. Donald Trump said the Iranian attack — the first attack on Israel since the ceasefire — “didn't hurt anyone.”

— I hope that Israel will not respond with retaliation. If Bibi answers them, the situation will repeat as it has for the last 47 years – and perhaps for the last 3,000 years – said the American leader.

The US president noted that he is “very close” to an agreement with Iran and does not want it to be ruined by escalation between Iran and Israel. He emphasized strongly that his opinion would have the final meaning.

– He won't have it [Netanjahu] choice. I make the decisions. I make all the decisions. He doesn't take them,” the American leader said in a telephone interview with the British daily Financial Times.
