Turkey Proposes Lifetime Smoking Ban for Those Born After 2015

The Turkish Ministry of Health is preparing to introduce significant measures to combat smoking, including a proposal to impose a lifetime smoking ban on individuals born after 2015. This initiative aims to curb the alarming rise in cigarette sales, which have nearly doubled over the past decade in the country.

Additionally, the government plans to prohibit the sale of tobacco products by the year 2040. The proposed legislation is set to be presented to Parliament in October.
