VIDEO Disturbed by questions, Trump left an interview with NBC News

An interview given by US President Donald Trump to the NBC News television station, filmed on Friday and broadcast on Sunday, degenerated following his dissatisfaction with the weather and the questions he received, especially about Iran, which were not to the liking of the White House leader, writes AFP.

“You are a biased and dishonest station. I'm sorry, we're stopping here, because I'm fed up! Thank you, sweetie, keep having fun!”, Trump told journalist Kristen Welker, before getting up and leaving, reports Agerpres.

He gave this nearly hour-long interview on NBC News' “Meet the Press” on Friday during a trip to the state of Wisconsin (northern USA), where he addressed farmers.

The interview took place on a farm in the agricultural state, with a tractor and haystacks in the background, and focused largely on the war against Iran and attempts to reach a deal.

“Is it windy, or what's going on?” Trump asked as torrential rain pelted the metal structure where the interview was taking place, making the discussion difficult.

“Do you hear the thunder?” he says a little later, after the interview had already been interrupted several times. “Should we stop?” Kristen Welker asked the technical team. “Guys, no! People will understand, we are on a farm,” objected the president.

Trump to the journalist: “You are either corrupt or an idiot”

More questions about Iran followed, after which Trump reproached the journalist for being “left-wing, progressive”, then accused NBC of broadcasting “fake polls”.

The tone of the interview became increasingly tense, with the president expressing his irritation at the questions he considered biased about a so-called anti-instrumentalization fund (for now suspended by the judiciary), intended to compensate those who would have been victims of biased justice during the presidency of his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden.

“I love this idea” of the anti-instrumentation fund and there are “people like you, this lying and corrupt press, these unscrupulous journalists who support an idiot like Biden (…) They destroyed lives. They sent people to prison who did nothing wrong,” Trump said indignantly.

“There is no proof for what you say,” the journalist replied.

“You're either corrupt or an idiot,” he then insulted her, then got up and left, while Kristen Welker tried to hold him back for the interview.

However, on Sunday, the journalist said that in the meantime she had spoken again with President Trump “about the difficulties caused by the rain” and that he had agreed to give her another interview.

This was a new episode in the difficult relationship between the Republican president and the mainstream media, which Donald Trump accuses of being partisan against him and in favor of the Democrats.
