A 34-year-old man died on Saturday morning after being attacked by a bear in the area of Prod, informs the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Sibiu, according to Agerpres.
According to the cited source, a SMURD crew went to the exit of the locality, where following a call to 112, it was reported that a man was seriously injured.
The SMURD helicopter was also alerted.
“When the SMURD crew arrived at the scene, it was found that a man aged approximately 34 years has injuries incompatible with life, most likely caused by a bear”, states ISU Sibiu.
Unfortunately, the man was declared dead, added the Sibiu Emergency Situations Inspectorate.
The Sibiu County Police Inspectorate said that “from the first checks carried out on the spot by police officers from the Dumbrăveni City Police, it emerged that a 34-year-old local man was allegedly attacked by a bear on the way out of the town of Prod. Following the event, the man was found dead”.
Investigations are being continued by police officers from the Dumbrăveni City Police to establish the circumstances in which the event took place, IPJ Sibiu also reported, according to the local publication Turnul Sfatului.
