The first meeting of the USR leadership after the outbreak of the scandal related to the studies of the Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu

The USR National Bureau will meet on Friday, from 12:00, in the first meeting of the party leadership after the outbreak of the scandal related to the inaccuracies in the CV of Minister Ionuț Moșteanu, revealed by Libertatea.
USR sources tell HotNews that the Friday 12:00 meeting is a regular, recurring one that takes place every weekend. It is not clear whether the situation of Minister Ionuț Moșteanu will also be discussed in Friday's meeting.
“We were not informed that the Moșteanu topic would be on the agenda,” USR management sources told HotNews. On the other hand, other people in USR management say that the subject will definitely be addressed.
“He will be asked to withdraw political support,” say other party sources.
And Digi24.ro reported on Friday's USR meeting, also stating that part of the USR leadership will demand the withdrawal of political support for Ionuț Moșteanu, citing sources from the party.
The ambiguities in Moșteanu's CV
In the first public positions he held, adviser to the Ministry of Transport and member of several CAs, the Athenaeum faculty appears in Ionuț Moșteanu's CV, while now Bioterra appears, writes Libertatea. Atheneum denied having the current Minister of Defense as a student.
Moșteanu held, in 2015-2016, the position of advisor to the minister in the Ministry of Transport and member of the CA of some state companies, positions that required, according to the law at the time, higher education.
The minister then stated in his CV that he studied Management, between 1996 and 2000, at the Athenaeum private university in Bucharest. As can be seen from this CV, the diploma from the Athenaeum was the only university diploma that Moşteanu held during that period.
In a response to Libertatea, the Athenaeum University denied that Moșteanu was a student and that the Management specialization was not active in those years, being authorized only in 2020. The CV in which the Athenaeum University was mentioned was deleted from the Tarom website, in the part that contained the presentation of Moșteanu, as a member of the Board of Directors.
After becoming a parliamentarian, in later versions of his CV, Moșteanu stated that he studied at another private university: Bioterra University, between 1996-1999, which he completed in 2015.
Minister's explanations: “A mistake that embarrasses me”
After the information published by Libertatea regarding the fact that the Athenaeum faculty appears in an older CV, where according to the school he was never a student, Minister Moșteanu, a member of USR, admitted on his Facebook page that the mention of the Athenaeum in his first public CV was “a mistake”. And he published the bachelor's degree obtained at Bioterra, at the Faculty of Engineering and Agrotourism Management.
“To clarify the discussions that have appeared in the public space about my studies, I put my bachelor's degree here to clarify things,” wrote Ionuț Moșteanu.
Next, the minister presents the “story of his studies”:
“I came in 45th in Automatic in 1992. In the 2nd year I started working to support myself, I never finished. I started a new college, but it was not a priority for me to graduate, I never needed the diploma in private jobs and entrepreneurship. I continued to learn every day and still do.
I completed the faculty in 2015 with the license exam and obtained the diploma at Bioterra, Faculty of Engineering and Agrotourism Management, Profile – economic engineering, Specialty – managerial engineering”, wrote Ionuț Moșteanu.
“In a CV made in 2016 at speed on a model on the net, there was a mistake that I admit embarrasses me. I didn't pay much attention to these details then. I apologize for that,” the minister also said.
