Madonna, an announcement made on a dating app, and shortly after she held a surprise concert

Madonna held a surprise 15-minute mini-concert Thursday night in the iconic Times Square shopping intersection in New York, a few weeks before the release of her new album, writes AFP.

The 67-year-old American singer, wearing a pink corset and blue glasses on a raised stage for the occasion, announced to her fans shortly before the start of that micro-recital via the LGBT online dating app Grindr, which was a partner of the event.

Madonna, the artist with the most records sold in history, will release at the beginning of July the album “Confessions II”, produced by Stuart Price, with whom the singer created the album “Confessions on a Dance Floor” (2005), which includes famous songs such as “Hung Up” and “Sorry”, according to Agerpres.

She will also perform at a World Cup halftime show in New York on July 19 alongside Shakira and BTS – a first for the sporting event, which draws inspiration from the Super Bowl halftime show in the United States.

It was the second time in recent weeks that Times Square became host to a surprise event: on May 16, Italian fashion house Gucci used the space to present the second collection created by its artistic director, Demna. That spectacular show was also broadcast live on the huge billboards that surround the legendary New York market.
