Strawberry prices in Bronisze have dropped significantly. An expert explains: the sell-out effect
We are almost at the peak of strawberry supply, Poles have even jumped on the popular seasonal fruit. The market is surprising with prices – while a few days ago we wrote about strawberry prices of PLN 15-17 per 1 kg, on Wednesday there was a sharp drop. Maciej Kmera, an expert on the wholesale market in Bronisze, explains why this is the case and why there may be an increase in the near future. – Indeed, the prices of strawberries have dropped significantly today, they are PLN 5-7 per kilogram, but this is the result of the sale – he says in an interview with Radio Zet.

The price of strawberries may still change
Maciej Kmera claims that the sharp drop in strawberry prices on the stock exchange in Bronisze near Warsaw is primarily due to the fact that the next day is Corpus Christi and traders want to get rid of goods that are difficult to store as quickly as possible.
— Strawberries ripen very quickly, the turnover of goods is very fast, and before the upcoming holiday, farmers do not want to be left with unsold goods – explains the expert in an interview with Radio Zet.

Both Polish strawberries and those imported from other countries are cheaper. Fruits are still available on the Polish market, including: from Greece and Serbia. According to the expert, their low price will not last long, and changes will be visible on the stock exchange on Thursday. Despite the holiday and public holiday, Bronisze will start selling on June 4 at 16. By then, traders will buy fruit for sale from Friday morning.
Whether there will be many strawberries after Corpus Christi and what their price will be will be determined by, among others: weather. Strawberries like sun and warmth, which not only allows the fruit to ripen faster, but also prevents it from spoiling as quickly as during rain.
