In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, more than 900 men received specialist consultations during the “Men’s Health Day” campaign. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Medical institutions in the region held a preventive campaign dedicated to men's health. Particular attention was paid to diseases of the reproductive system, which is especially important for men from 18 to 49 years old.

Residents of the region could undergo comprehensive diagnostics and receive recommendations from doctors in one day. The program included consultations with a surgeon, assessment of general health and, if necessary, referral for additional examinations.

A total of 1,376 men were examined. 928 people received consultations.

At Krasnoyarsk interdistrict clinic No. 5, 32 people underwent medical examination. After an appointment with a urologist, everyone was given recommendations or referrals for in-depth diagnostics.

“I saw on the Internet that you can undergo a free medical examination, called the clinic, and they immediately signed me up. I went through all the specialists in one day, and now I have a complete picture of my health. I was diagnosed with high blood sugar. They wrote out a referral to an endocrinologist, and I will go with a specific request,” shared Krasnoyarsk resident Igor Butynets.

“Medical examination is necessary because many men are not even aware of their pathology. During the examination, we identify quite a lot of issues that every man should know about,” noted Elena Khlebnova, a urologist at polyclinic No. 5.

At the Sosnovy Bor hospital, a special emphasis was placed on preparing future fathers. The men were told about partner childbirth and shown how to swaddle and bathe a baby, handle the umbilical cord and properly handle a newborn.

“Planning a child is an important matter for future parents. Such activities reduce anxiety and fear. Men often experience stress no less than women, but they hide it,” explained Elena Zyk, head of the antenatal clinic in Sosnovoborsk.

Reproductive screening is included in the program of general medical examination of the population within the framework of the national project “Long and Active Life”.

The Ministry of Health noted that due to the interest of residents of the region, the possibility of making one of the Saturdays of the month specialized for in-depth medical examination of men’s health is now being discussed.
