
If you need soft, sweet carrots for borscht, salad or stew, there is an easy way. It leaves no odor in the house, does not create a cloud of steam in the kitchen and does not require a pan. Everything is prepared quickly, accurately and without unnecessary fuss.
You will need:
Medium sized carrots – 2-3 pcs.
Water – 2 tablespoons
Paper towel or cotton napkin
Microwave
How to cook:
- Wash the carrots. Do not peel the peel, it will protect the pulp from drying out.
- Dampen a paper towel or cloth and wring it out lightly.
- Wrap each carrot in a wet napkin.
- Place the packages on a plate and microwave.
- Cook on high power for 5 minutes. If the carrots are large, add another 1-2 minutes.
- Let it sit for 2-3 minutes, it will reach and become soft to the core.
- Unwrap, cool and peel; the skin can be easily removed under running water.
The finished carrots are bright orange, sweet, tender, but not watery. It is ideal for borscht, baby puree, stewed vegetables or even a fresh salad with yogurt.
This method is especially good in winter, when you want vitamins, but don’t have time for long cooking.
