In Russia, the medicines on the list of vitally needed drugs will last for 8 months. Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Roszdravnadzor announced such a stock at the pharmaceutical breakfast “Medicine Safety” as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Sergei Glagolev said that the supply of drugs to the market has become faster, and the level of supply of drugs is more stable thanks to government measures. The head of Roszdravnadzor, Alla Samoilova, also said that Russians have become less likely to contact the agency with complaints about the lack of medicines.
“The most important thing that we see today is the response of our citizens. We see that the number of requests regarding shortages of medicines is becoming less and less every year,” said Alla Samoilova.
According to her, patients are provided with the necessary medications. Samoilova explained that medicines are issued under international non-proprietary names, which makes it possible to control the provision of citizens with the necessary drugs. The head of Roszdravnadzor added that if there is a shortage of certain drugs, the agency is ready to get involved in resolving the issue and interact with suppliers and manufacturers.
Also, according to Samoilova, Russia has built a system of drug quality control. The agency monitors the circulation of drugs, including in new territories.
