In the Sovetsky district of Krasnoyarsk, the Journalists' Square on Metallurgov Avenue is being improved.

The UDIB said that the contractor has already completed dismantling work and removed all construction waste. A curb has also been installed, which will become an important element demarcating future paths and sites. The base is being prepared: it is poured and compacted to create a reliable base for new coatings.

The plans are to pave the pedestrian paths with paving stones, and make a safe rubberized coating in the play areas. Playgrounds for children will be enlarged to accommodate more modern small architectural forms.

“It is important to note that not a single tree was damaged during the improvement process. On the contrary, we are planning large-scale landscaping work: new trees, flowers and shrubs will be planted to make the square even more cozy and beautiful,” the UDEB promised.

All work to transform Journalists Square must be completed by September 1.
