At the Krasnoyarsk airport, a dangerous seedling was found among spouses arriving from Vietnam

In Krasnoyarsk, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists stopped the import of seedlings from Vietnam.

According to the press service of the department, prohibited regulated products of high phytosanitary risk were discovered at the Krasnoyarsk airport during control on the international flight Nha Trang – Krasnoyarsk.

“The couple arrived from Nha Trang and imported an ornamental plant for protected soil into Russia. They explained that the man received the plant as a gift from a Vietnamese resident during the trip. At the same time, the import of the potted plant was carried out without a phytosanitary certificate, which must be issued by the national organization for quarantine and plant protection of the exporting country,” explained Rosselkhoznadzor.

The plant was detained by department specialists and will be destroyed by the owner’s decision. Also, the owner of the cargo was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 10.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

Rosselkhoznadzor recalled that in accordance with the Unified Quarantine Phytosanitary Requirements of the EAEU, the import of seed and planting material into the territory of Russia in the luggage and hand luggage of passengers without a phytosanitary certificate is prohibited.
