High school students from the cities of responsibility of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk and SGK will visit coal mines and thermal power plants this summer

Almost 200 high school students from the cities of Nazarovo, Borodino, Sharypovo, Kansk and Minusinsk will take part in the “Profteams.FM” project this summer.

Coal mines with giant excavators await them, power plants, the work of which provides light and heat to thousands of homes, the guys will try to control a diesel locomotive and mining equipment on special simulators, get acquainted with the heads of large enterprises and people who once also faced the choice of a future profession. Everything became possible thanks to the new season of the “Profkomandy.FM” project, which is being implemented with the support of the Melnichenko Foundation in the cities of responsibility of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk and SGK.

As SUEK said, for schoolchildren this is not just a summer part-time job, but an opportunity to look into the world of professions not through a phone screen or a career guidance test, but for real – by finding themselves where power engineers, miners, machinists and engineers work.

In the summer, participants will enjoy excursions to the Nazarovsky, Borodino and Berezovsky open-pit mines, the Nazarovo State District Power Plant, the Kanskaya and Minusinskaya Thermal Power Plants. They will see modern production from the inside, learn how a career is built at the largest fuel and energy enterprises of the region, and at the same time learn to work in a team, participating in urban improvement, environmental and social events.

“From this shift I expect a lot of new impressions, interesting meetings and friends,” says Zakhar Tkachenko, a project participant from Sharypovo.

“For the second year now, I have had the opportunity to become a member of the “Profkomanda.FM”. Last year, I was especially interested in trips to enterprises and joint events with employees of the Borodino open-pit mine and loading and transport department. We participated in charity events and city projects. I like to do something useful for the city and its residents,” says Evgeny Spiridonov from Borodino.

“Today, such projects solve a much more important problem than just organizing summer employment for teenagers. They help young people see the possibilities for their future in their hometowns. Because it’s hard to dream about a profession that you’ve never seen. And it’s much easier to make plans when you’ve seen with your own eyes that interesting work, strong mentors and prospects for growth are very close,” SUEK is convinced.
