The investigation into the murder of Igor Talkov in 1991 was completed by the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg – the concert director of the singer Valery Shlyakhman was accused of murdering the artist.
According to the Investigative Committee, behind the scenes of the Yubileiny Sports Palace, Shlyakhman had a conflict with a representative of one of the speakers, Igor Malakhov. Shlyakhman shot at Malakhov with a revolver, but by coincidence the bullet hit Igor Talkov.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers questioned more than 150 witnesses and conducted a number of genetic examinations. A criminal case was initiated under the article of murder committed in a generally dangerous manner. Soon Shlyakhman's charges will be confirmed and submitted to court.
