Mihaela Cambei (22 years old) won three gold medals at the European Championships in Chisinau, to the styles torn and high and in total within the 49 kg category, with a final result of 190 kg. She repeated what she had succeeded in the previous two editions. Adriana Cosmina Pană and Ioana Miron won, in their turn, a bronze medal.
The Paris Olympic vice -champion, Mihaela Cambei, managed a solid competition, even if at first, with emotions, at the Europeans hosted by the capital of Moldova. And he managed to impose himself on the two styles and in total, without feeling a real threat from the opponents.
Cambei came in the last contest in the torn style, where it is stronger. One by one, the opponents ended their evolution, the most valuable being Spanish Lucia Gonzalez Borrego, who had successful attempts at 75, then at 77 kilograms.
Prior to it, the other Romanian dumbbell inscribed in this category, Adriana Cosmina Panăhe had made a brave contest. It started with a safe lifting to 73 kg, which also offered the certainty that it will be in the standings. He was then successful at 76 kg, the attempt that brought him the bronze medal, because at 78 kg he failed to take the attempt to the end.
Gold with emotions to the style torn for Mihaela Cambei
When Mihaela's turn came to evolve, all the other athletes had finished. The Romanian started at 85 kilograms, but surprisingly, he missed, escaping the bar from the first seconds. He left quiet in the room, as in the next, for which he returned to the competition podium after only 40 seconds, although he had two minutes. And he missed again.
The last attempt was a secure one and brought him the gold medal and European title to the snatched style.

Cambei was the European champion in both styles and in total in the last two editions, Yerevan 2023 and Sofia 2024. She obtained the first continental medals in 2021, silver at high and bronze.
To the category 45 pounds, Ioana Miron He obtained the bronze medal in the torn style, where he succeeded 71 kg. The gold returned to the Spanish Marta Garcia, with 77, followed by Cansu Bektaș from Turkey, 76 kg. The latter, who took silver and the style thrown, became a European champion.
The Romanian managed 86 kilograms to throw, the 4th place in the respective style, ending the contest with a total of 157 kg, also the 4th place.

“I had some indescribable emotions, but it was over, I managed to make a remarkable result for me and that thanks me a lot. 157 pounds is a good total, even one of the best brought by me“, She told the TVR microphone.
