Arkhangelsk City Duma deputy died in a helicopter crash
The Robinson 44 helicopter disappeared from radar the day before in the Arkhangelsk region; deputy Sergei Smetanin and the owner of the transport, businessman Alexey Semyonov, were on board. On September 25, they flew out on this helicopter to go fishing.
The crash occurred on the way back from the lakes, near the village of Bychye. The media write that the wives of the businessman and the deputy did not immediately notify the emergency services, since the flight was uncoordinated.
A criminal case has been opened under the article “violation of traffic safety rules and operation of an aircraft, resulting in the death of two persons through negligence.”
