Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his blog spoke about the achievements of the capital's developers in the field of medical technologies, noting that Moscow is becoming one of the leading centers of medical innovation.
According to the mayor, today there are hundreds of high-tech enterprises operating in the capital that create advanced solutions for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Thanks to the development of innovative infrastructure, the path from scientific development to implementation in practical healthcare has been significantly shortened.
Sobyanin noted that over the past year the production of medicines in Moscow has increased significantly. Significant growth was shown in the production of vital drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, as well as vaccines.
The mayor paid special attention to developments in the field of regenerative medicine. Moscow specialists have created technologies for growing artificial skin based on human cellular materials. Such solutions help speed up the healing of complex wounds, reduce the risk of complications and, in some cases, prevent limb amputations.
Another important achievement was developments in the field of artificial organs. In the capital, domestic renal replacement therapy systems have been created, and work is also underway on technologies for growing an artificial liver from the patient’s own cells. According to experts, this will significantly reduce the risk of tissue rejection and expand the possibilities of treating serious diseases.
Separately, Sergei Sobyanin noted the successes of Moscow scientists in the field of neurotechnology. Neuroimplants being developed are capable of transmitting signals directly to the human brain, opening up new prospects for restoring vision and hearing in patients with severe impairments. To increase the effectiveness of such solutions, modern virtual reality technologies are used, which help doctors more accurately adjust the operation of implants.
As the mayor of Moscow emphasized, many technologies that until recently seemed like science fiction are today becoming real tools for helping patients and shaping the medicine of the future.
