Deputies Dmitry Sviridov and Irina Subocheva received a majority of votes from Norilsk residents for nomination to the Legislative Assembly of the region

More than 18.5 thousand residents of Norilsk took part in the preliminary intra-party vote of United Russia to nominate candidates to participate in the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Voting took place from May 25 to May 31 in electronic format throughout Russia. In our region, over 250 thousand residents cast their votes for one candidate or another.

The leader among the proposed candidates to participate in the State Duma elections in the Yenisei single-mandate constituency No. 61 was Andrey Grachev, director for interaction with authorities and employers' associations of the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

“Your support is both a great honor and responsibility for me. I am sure that we will pass the next stage no less successfully and in September we will receive a worthy team of like-minded people, capable of comprehensively solving even the most complex issues at all levels of government. Thank you for your reliable shoulder, for your firm northern word, for your opinions, suggestions and criticism, for the opportunity to become a candidate from Norilsk and Taimyr,” Andrei Grachev thanked the Norilsk residents.

As for the nomination of candidates from Norilsk to participate in the elections of deputies of the regional Legislative Assembly, in district No. 21 the townspeople gave the majority of votes to the deputy chairman of the regional parliament Dmitry Sviridov, and in district No. 22 – to the deputy of the Legislative Assembly Irina Subocheva.

Dmitry Sviridov expressed gratitude to his fellow countrymen: “This time too, the Norilsk residents showed activity, declared at the regional level their readiness to support the northerners and once again form an effective team that will defend the interests of Norilsk and its residents in the next 5 years,” Sviridov emphasized.

The head of Norilsk, Dmitry Karasev, also noted the special responsibility of Norilsk residents, calling the results of the PVG a confident bid for the development of the northern city: “The record number of participants in the preliminary voting indicates a high level of trust among residents in the party of our President. I consider this result a confident victory for the Norilsk people,” Karasev noted.

Based on the results of voting for candidates in regional groups, the speaker of the local parliament, Alexander Pestryakov, became the leader of the Norilsk group in terms of the number of votes. The Talnakh group was headed by Norilsk City Council deputy Elena Tumanova.

Summing up the results of the PVG, Chairman of the Norilsk City Council Alexander Pestryakov added that it is now necessary to carry out a number of internal party events in order to approve the winners for subsequent nomination as candidates: “In June, at the regional party conference, candidates will be approved to participate in the elections to the Legislative Assembly from United Russia. I would like to address my colleagues: we have serious work ahead to ensure that our candidates receive maximum support in the upcoming elections. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen our efforts in forming the People’s Program for the new term,” Pestryakov concluded.
