Chaos in France. “Paris is burning. Not from the sea of flares like in Krakow” [WIDEO]

Paris Saint-Germain players won the Champions League for the second time in a row. In Saturday's final in Budapest, they defeated Arsenal London 4-3 on penalties. After 90 and 120 minutes the score was 1-1.

PSG became the second club in history to defend the trophy in the Champions League dating back to the 1992/93 season. Real Madrid had previously done it twice (2018 and 2019).

PSG triumphs, Paris descends into chaos

The triumph of the Parisian club brought thousands of PSG fans to the streets of the French capital. However, instead of joy, the celebrations – not for the first time in France – turned into riots and destruction of property, and the French police had their hands full.

“Paris is burning” – one could read in the description of one of the films.

“Paris plunged into chaos. Many residents preferred not to leave their homes for fear of their own safety” – this is another description of events in the French capital.

“Paris is burning. It's not because of a sea of flares like in Krakow or Poznań last week. Shops, cars are burning, everything is destroyed that can fall into the hands of hundreds of troglodytes who don't care about… football. They only care about thefts and riots with the police. This is Western support. Better, civilized… I'll thank you. I prefer ours,” wrote one of Wisła Kraków's fans using the nickname Łysy after Krakow, reminding that a few days ago the fans of Lech Poznań and Wisła Kraków celebrated the Polish championship and promotion to the top league, respectively, in a completely different way from the one we see in France.

“Paris currently looks like a war zone. Again. North African gangs are blocking the streets and destroying everything they can get their hands on after PSG won the Champions League. Total chaos,” another Internet user commented.

The fire was set under the statue of Ferdinand Foch (Fosz): Marshal of France, Great Britain and Honorary Marshal of Poland.
