
In Lyubotin, Kharkov region, law enforcement officers detained a 42-year-old local resident who is suspected of setting his hunting dog on wild foxes. According to investigators, the suspect filmed this on his phone and published it on social networks, the Kharkov Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported on May 29.
According to the case file, in a local forest, the suspect could lure foxes into trap nets, and then give the command “face” to his Jagdterrier dog.
The prosecutor's office reported that in one of the episodes, after the dog pulled the fox out of the hole and grabbed her by the neck, the suspect could hit the wounded animal on the head several times with a gun, and when she tried to escape, fire a shot in her direction and set the Jagdterrier on fire again. According to investigators, at least five foxes died from the lacerations they received.
“The skinner filmed all the atrocities on his mobile phone and posted them on his own YouTube channel and Facebook page,” the department wrote.
A 42-year-old man was charged with suspicion. 1, 3, 4 tbsp. 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (cruelty to animals). The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of the animal.
