Elon Musk and SpaceX are developing a satellite system for the US Space Force

The SB-AMTI program was designed as an integrated system to support cooperation between various entities in the US space industry sector. His key task will be strengthening defense capabilitiesincluding detecting and tracking missiles and other airborne threats.
As part of the Golden Dome initiative, which is the flagship project of the Donald Trump administration, multi-layer anti-missile defense systems are being developed. These include ground-based interception systems, sensors and command systems, as well as satellites for detecting and tracking threats. The new satellites also have the potential to counter threats in space, although the details of such capabilities are still under debate.
The US Space Force emphasized that SpaceX is one of many suppliers under the SB-AMTI program. Further tenders and contract awards are planned in the coming year. “This initial order aims to launch a satellite constellation by 2028, which will provide the Armed Forces with the ability to eliminate operational gaps in threat detection,” says an official statement.
