The title “Honorary Citizen of the Krasnoyarsk Territory” was awarded to Yuri Abakumov and Alexander Gorovoy. The decision was made by deputies of the Legislative Assembly.
Yuri Abakumov is a well-known figure in the construction industry and a current member of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Russian Geographical Society. His professional path started as a foreman in the installation department. In the mid-1970s, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Over the years, the honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk served as first deputy chairman of the executive committee, headed the main economic planning department of the regional council of people's deputies, and also headed the committee on legality and citizens' rights in the regional parliament.
A native of the Uyarsky district, Alexander Gorovoy began his career in the internal affairs bodies as an ordinary policeman, and later rose to the rank of First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia. The honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk has the rank of Colonel General of Police, in different years he was responsible for public security issues and performed special tasks in the North Caucasus.
“We received a petition from the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the region to confer an honorary title on Yuri Konstantinovich Abakumov, as well as an appeal from the governor to confer the title on Alexander Vladimirovich Gorovoy. These are very famous people in the Krasnoyarsk region. The documents were reviewed by the regional awards commission and unanimously approved. Our committee also unanimously supported both candidates. Both Yuri Konstantinovich and Alexander Vladimirovich made a huge contribution to the development of our region,” said Galina Ampilogova, chairman of the Committee on State Structure, Legislation and Local Self-Government.
Let us remind you that earlier in Krasnoyarsk a solemn ceremony of presenting the badges “Honorary Donor of Russia” took place. A high state award for long-term regular donation of blood and its components was received by 54 residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 19 of whom represent the regional center.
