About life in Sweden
“I can immediately say that I am an actress who is not exactly in Ukraine now. And this is a big difference, because I can only imagine how to be an actress in Ukraine. And I simply bow to those who remain. But I come a lot,” she said.
According to Kisten, she tries to work on different projects abroad.
“I, like many people, did not leave forever. I was leaving the war and did not know what would happen. But from the first days I tried to create, as they say now, networking. That is, I created an environment around me. I met many creative people in Sweden and communicated with those from Ukraine who are in one way or another involved not even in the acting, but in the creative profession, because there are few actors there. And thanks to this, some projects constantly arose,” she noted.
The actress admitted that she does not act in films in Sweden.
About the difficult Swedish language
The actress noted that she is actively learning English, but Swedish is difficult for her.
“I’m learning English, because it’s their second language, and they communicate perfectly well in English all the time. In Swedish it will take a very long time. They won’t wait for me until I finish a sentence. But I’m learning it. I’m studying it. That is, I can play in Swedish, but communicating is a constant improvisation. There’s a bit of a lack of vocabulary. They have a very difficult pronunciation. That’s what immigrants most often cannot master – it’s complex pronunciation,” she explained she.
About popularity
Kisten does not hide the fact that if she needs to get somewhere, she remembers that she starred in the series “Servant of the People” together with Zelensky.
“I am constantly recognized. And even in Sweden, Ukrainians. At the same time, I am not on social networks, I am not public. And this is not because I am hiding something. I don’t understand why I should post it. I don’t have this need and never have. And I became famous thanks to TV series,” she said. “In Sweden, I really now use my popularity, if I need to somehow promote something, appear, I say: “Yes, I starred in a TV series with Zelensky” – in order for it to work as a hook, as attention, and then I will say what I really need.”
Personal life
The artist admitted that in 2023 she met a Swedish architect at a party and is now in a relationship with him.
“I’m still not married, but I’m a happy person. I believe that fate gave me a meeting that I couldn’t imagine for myself. It happened in Sweden. And this is also one of the reasons why I’m there, because it’s a serious relationship,” she said. “We met, as it happens in the movies – at a party, just by accident. And then for some reason the man just wanted to find me, because if he didn’t want to, I think that’s where the whole story would have ended. But he was looking for me. The more I learned, the more I loved this man. He is not an actor, not a director. But still, to a certain extent, he has a creative profession, because he is an architect – he creates spaces.”
