The department advises Krasnoyarsk residents to include whole grain products high in fiber in their diet – from whole wheat, rice, oats, barley or corn flour.

Pregnant women also need a variety of vegetables: dark green, red, orange, as well as legumes – beans, chickpeas, peas. Vegetables can be eaten fresh, low-salt canned, or frozen without sauces or seasonings. It is better to choose fresh fruits, canned without sugar, frozen or dried.

Experts recommend low-fat dairy products with a high calcium content. For protein, lean meats, poultry, fish, nuts, seeds and legumes are good options. Your diet should also include healthy fats – avocados, cold-pressed vegetable oils, nuts and fatty fish.

Moderate physical activity, Rospotrebnadzor added, will be a good addition to a healthy diet.
