Nicușor Dan announces measures against Moscow: “The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Constanța has been declared persona non grata, the Consulate is closing”
The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, convened the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) on Friday, May 29, after a Russian drone crashed over a block of flats in the municipality of Galați.

“The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Constanța has been declared persona non grata, and the Consulate in Constanța will close”, declared Nicușor Dan.
“Regarding Romania's capabilities in the case of these incidents, we have a component within SAFE, we have a partnership with Ukraine. We insisted on urgency in the discussion with the NATO Secretary General. The Minister of Defense presented the strategy”, he also declared.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan was not present, as he was on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova, where he will meet the country's president, Maia Sandu, and the head of the Chisinau Government, Alexandru Munteanu.
Friday's incident was followed by an explosion and fire at an apartment located on the 10th floor of the building. A RO-Alert message was issued for Brăila, Tulcea and Galați. Also, two people were injured.
