In Kansk, police thanked a 16-year-old boy who, risking himself, saved two children from a fire.

The police learned about his selfless act by chance, when, as part of interdepartmental cooperation with medical institutions, they received a message about the hospitalization of a young man with carbon monoxide poisoning.

On May 14, at about 16:00, Kirill and his mother noticed that the neighboring house, where a family with small children lived, was all in smoke. While the woman was calling emergency services, Kirill began to act: the guy knocked down the gate to the yard, but he was unable to get into the house – the door was locked from the inside. Then the student rushed to the kitchen window, which, fortunately, was not closed.

Climbing into the house, Kirill carried out two children, ages 2 and 3, and then returned to help their mother, who could not get into the kitchen with her children. At this time, firefighters arrived – they helped the woman and Kirill get out of the house, and also extinguished the fire.

The police found out that the owner was at home alone with two children. To prevent the boys from running out into the street while she was busy with housework, mom locked the front door from the inside. At some point, the children, playing, went into the kitchen, where they locked themselves and independently turned on the electric stove, on which there was a towel. From the heat of the burners, the towel began to smolder and emit toxic smoke.

The head of the Kansky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Denis Kurpas, in a solemn ceremony on behalf of the personnel of the Department of Internal Affairs presented Kirill Tsarulitsa with a letter of gratitude for his dedication, active civic consciousness in saving and ensuring the safety of human life, and also invited him to further join the ranks of the Kansky law enforcement officers. In addition, the police major expressed gratitude to his mother, Olesya Vladimirovna, for the decent upbringing of her son. An excursion to the departmental museum and a tea party were organized for the guests of honor.
