HotNews, two prizes at the Superscrieri Awards Gala 2026. Recorder took the big prizes

Two journalistic series published by HotNews were awarded on Wednesday evening during the 15th edition of the Superscrieri Awards.

  • In the Feature Writing section, journalists Elena Stancu and Cosmin Bumbuț took 2nd place, with the series “Boiler in Corcova, painter in Brussels” published by Teleleu.eu and HotNews.
  • In the Thematic Journalism section, journalist Iulia Hau received the 3rd prize with the series about Asian workers in Romania published by HotNews and Snoop
  • The investigative website Snoop, partner of HotNews, took first place in the same section, with the series about party money written by journalist Cristian Andrei.
  • Medeea Stan, from Snoop, won the prize from Humane World for Animals, for the investigation “Euthanasia as a business: tens of thousands of dogs killed for millions of euros, public money, under the eyes of the authorities”.

The Recorder editorial office was the big winner of the 15th edition of the Superscrieri Awards organized by the Friends for Friends Foundation (FFFF), on Wednesday evening, at the Diplomatic Club in Bucharest.

Recorder won the Superwriting of the Year award for last year's documentary “Captured Justice” made by Andreea Pocotilă and Mihai Voinea.

The Recorder also received the Newsroom of the Year award.

Tribute to a mentor

During the gala, an honorary award was given to Daniel Condurache, a professor from Iași, who was a mentor for entire generations of journalists and worked and managed the most important publication-school of university press – Opinia Studențeasca – for almost 50 years.
