Ukraine is fortifying its borders for a circular defense. Harsh warning from Kyiv for Minsk

The SBS commander added that the defense industry and the refining sector of the Russian Federation are already feeling the effects of the long-range Ukrainian strikes. According to operational data, the ninth refinery out of a total of 13 Russian energy targets attacked by SBS drones during May has suspended its activity.

Strategy of preventive steps on the border with Belarus and Transnistria
Although the spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demcenko, stated that there are currently no Russian infantry units massed on the territory of Belarus capable of triggering an imminent invasion, the risk remains high. Minsk continues to develop its logistical and military infrastructure, giving Moscow the ability to quickly deploy additional forces.
In this context, five key regions of Ukraine have moved to implement a plan of massive fortification and preparation for an “all-around defense”:
Kyiv region: The military authorities ordered the preparation of 32 localities in the region, including the capital, for a long-term resistance in tactical isolation, in the event of a new siege from the north.
Volîni region: On the direct border with Belarus, intensive work is being done to fortify the neighboring towns. The emergency plans provide for the complete evacuation of the civilian population from the border towns to safe areas, already established by the local administrations, in the event of the activation of the threat from the north.
Odesa Region: Engineering works intensified on the border segment with the separatist region of Transnistria. Complex defensive lines are being installed around Odesa, including tens of kilometers of anti-tank ditches, bunkers, barbed wire networks and “dragon's teeth” structures. The “South” territorial command emphasized that these measures are intended to deter any attempt at an enemy landing.
Extending the Front Line: Preparations in the East and South
Beyond the northern flank, military pressure prompts similar measures in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. The spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladîslav Volosîn, confirmed that almost all the towns and small urban centers in these areas – such as Orihiv, Komîşuvaha and Vilniansk – are included in the circular defense plan, with fortifications being expanded daily.
The risks of a hybrid or conventional attack from Belarusian territory also target the Rivne and Zhytomyr regions, where the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the military are conducting increased control measures.
This general mobilization of logistical resources follows the analysis provided by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Oleksandr Sîrski. He categorized the threat from the north as a real one, indicating a clear tendency to expand and disperse the front line in the coming period.
