The first public appearance of Nicușor Dan in the week in which the announcement regarding the prime minister is expected
President Nicușor Dan participates on Wednesday in the opening of a summit on combating disinformation, organized within the Romania Imună initiative, at the Cotroceni Palace.
“Participation in the opening of the event “European Summit for Information Integrity and Combating Disinformation within the Immun Romania initiative”, the Presidential Administration sent.
The event starts at 09.50. The president will also deliver a speech at the opening of the event.
In parallel, President Dan is expected this week to appoint the new prime minister. The head of state had an informal discussion on Monday with the PSD and PNL leaders, Sorin Grindeanu and Ilie Bolojan.
According to HotNews sources, the main names circulating for the position of prime minister are those of the presidential adviser Radu Burnete, together with the MEP Eugen Tomac – he is also an honorary adviser in Cotroceni, but also the president of the Popular Movement Party.
A close associate of the former president Traian Băsescu, Tomac is the favorite, and the social democrats say that a support for him is taking shape, claim the quoted sources.
