The Times of Israel reports that a residential building was hit in the Rimal district of Gaza City. According to preliminary findings, two people were killed and 10 were injured.

According to Israeli authorities, Odeh was Hamas' intelligence chief during the October 7, 2023 attacks, and last week he was appointed to succeed Izz al-Din al-Haddad as the organization's leader in the Gaza Strip and head of its military wing.

Another attack on the Gaza Strip

Earlier, at least five people were killed in the central part of the Gaza Strip, said the Civil Defense and medical authorities of this Palestinian territory, quoted by AFP.

“Five martyrs and several wounded were taken to hospital after an Israeli drone attack was directed against a group of civilians east of Al-Maghazi,” the Palestinian Civil Defense said. Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital in Deir el-Balah confirmed the receipt of five bodies.

Contacted by AFP, the Israeli army said it was investigating the reports.

The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10, 2025, more than two years after the Hamas attack on Israel, which resulted in an Israeli retaliatory military operation. Despite this, there are almost daily attacks by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, which – according to the military – are aimed at terrorists posing a threat. According to estimates by the local Ministry of Health, over 870 people died in these operations carried out during the ceasefire.
