The body of the victim with multiple injuries was found in the pool of the livestock complex of the Mayak collective farm in the village of Nizhny Suetuk. But law enforcement officers were unable to solve the crime for a long time. In 2026, investigators and criminologists re-analyzed the criminal case materials in detail. During additional questioning of witnesses, new significant information was obtained and the identity of those involved in the incident was established. Under the weight of the evidence presented, the man admitted to his crime and demonstrated the circumstances in detail during the investigative experiment.

“It was established that on January 7, 2008, the accused and his acquaintance drank alcohol on the premises of a livestock complex. During the feast, the victim accused the man of theft. The quarrel escalated into a fight, during which the defendant struck his opponent in the head with the handle of a pitchfork, causing him to lose consciousness. The attacker then carried the man into the pool and left. The victim died from his injuries. The next day, the defendant returned to the scene and reported to law enforcement authorities about the discovery of the body, trying to divert suspicion from himself,” the Investigative Committee said.
