Siberian Federal University scientist Maxim Molokeev rose in the world ranking of World's Best Chemistry Scientists and took second place among Russian chemists. Last year, analytics company Clarivate included it in prestigious world ranking of the most cited scientists.
The ranking includes the most cited researchers in the field of chemistry. When compiling the list, the D-index is taken into account. It shows the scholarly influence of an author in a particular discipline. The rating includes scientists with a score of 40 and above.

Maxim Molokeev works in crystallography, solid state physics and nanotechnology. He is a senior researcher at the International Research Center for Spectroscopy and Quantum Chemistry, as well as an associate professor at the basic department of solid state physics and nanotechnology at Siberian Federal University.
The scientist has more than 700 scientific publications. His works are actively used and cited by colleagues from different countries.
Maxim Molokeev himself noted that he did not set himself the goal of getting into the rating.
“My colleagues and I never set ourselves the goal of achieving exactly this result. We just did what we had to do and what was interesting to us,” the scientist noted.
SFU emphasized that the high position in the international ranking indicates the researcher’s significant contribution to the development of modern chemistry and related scientific fields.
