In spring, spathiphyllum often turns yellow at the edges and refuses to produce white covers. The reason lies in the compacted substrate and the deficiency of phosphorus and organic matter. Store complexes are not always necessary. Proven home recipes return turgor to the plant and trigger active flowering without extra costs.
Basic feeding rules:
- From March to September, add food every ten days.
- In winter, reduce the frequency to once a month for the rest period.
- Young divisions up to six months are fed once every three weeks after full adaptation.
- Before watering, the soil must be slightly dry on top.
The best folk remedies:
Banana tincture
One skin per liter of water. Leave for two days and strain. Contains potassium and phosphorus, which strengthen flower stalks and make leaves glossy.
Amber solution
One tablet per liter of warm water. Completely dissolve before application. Speeds up metabolism, helps to survive stress from changing places and stimulates the formation of buds.
Coffee hood
Two tablespoons of coffee per liter of water. Pour into the root after straining. Gently acidifies the soil, which is necessary for the absorption of microelements, and improves the air permeability of the earth clod.
Important: excess organic matter acidifies the soil. When a white coating appears on the surface, the soil is washed with clean water and a break in nutrition is taken for twenty days.
Following these rules, the spathiphyllum will be covered with numerous white sails and fill the room with freshness for the entire warm season.
