VIDEO Max Korzh – concert and a fake online campaign showing violence in Bucharest. “False context to cause confusion or panic”

The Romanian Gendarmerie issued, on Saturday, a warning regarding a disinformation campaign in the online environment, with images showing violence presented as if it were taking place in Bucharest, at the concert of Belarusian rapper Max Korzh.

The images presented as being in Bucharest are, in fact, from a football match in France, says the Gendarmerie, quoted by Agerpres.

“In the online environment, there are images and posts erroneously associated with the concert of the artist Max Korzh, which is to take place in Bucharest. We make it clear that the images distributed are not related to this event. They come from a football match held in France, being presented in a false context to cause confusion or panic”, is the message sent by the Romanian Gendarmerie.

The Gendarmerie advises people to carefully check the source of information before sharing it on social media.

“The distribution of unverified materials contributes to the spread of misinformation and can increase unnecessary tensions in the public space. Only get information from official sources,” says the Gendarmerie.

The authorities have taken increased security measures around the National Arena in the Capital, to prevent incidents during the concert.

42,000 people at the National Arena at Max Korzh's concert

The spokeswoman of the Romanian Gendarmerie, Ana Maria Burchi, said on Saturday that fans from more than 50 countries are expected at the concert, and the authorities have taken all security measures around the stadium.

“The National Arena will welcome more than 42,000 participants to the concert of the artist Max Korzh. The MAI structures have ordered integrated public order measures to ensure the safety of all participants.”

“The specificity of this event lies in its international character, with participants from more than 50 countries present. The Gendarmerie and the Police have organized preventive actions since the past few days, in the most important points of the Capital. Informative materials with recommendations were made in several languages, posted on the institutional channels”, explained Ana Maria Burchi before the start of the concert.

At the scene, equestrian teams of the Gendarmerie are present for intervention, as well as dogs specialized in detecting explosive materials and prohibited substances.

Also, at the access control points, technical equipment was placed for the identification and scanning of biometric data.

In addition, drones and a helicopter will monitor access points from the air.
