
Metropolitan law enforcement officers detained a girl who is suspected of attacking a 52-year-old serviceman after a conflict on a trolleybus. Kyiv police reported this on Facebook on May 22.
The incident occurred on May 21 in the Shevchenko district of the capital.
According to the investigation, the military man was riding home in a trolleybus after service and made a remark to the girl and her comrade, who were loudly swearing in the cabin. The police note that the young people could have been drunk and were indignant in response to the remark, after which at a public transport stop the 18-year-old suspect could have hit the man on the head with a bottle.
As a result of the incident, the victim was injured – doctors previously determined that he had a head contusion and a closed craniocerebral injury, but he refused hospitalization.
The alleged attacker was detained and criminal proceedings began under Part 1 of Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Intentional minor bodily injury”, a notice of suspicion is now being prepared for her. The sanction of the article provides for a fine or community service for up to two hundred hours or correctional labor for up to one year.
Separately, administrative protocols were drawn up against the alleged violators under two articles of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences: Art. 173 “Petty hooliganism” and Art. 175-1 “Smoking tobacco products in prohibited places.”
