The Japanese giant chose Poland. A large heat pump factory was established

The world leader in the production of heating and air conditioning systems has invested in modern plant as much as EUR 300 million (almost PLN 1.3 billion).

Łódź is the new heart of the green transformation
The new plant in Ksawerów is more than just that Daikin's first Polish investment, but also the company's largest heat pump factory on the entire Old Continent. The decision to build it, announced in 2022, was a direct response to the rapidly growing demand for ecological heating systems in Europe.
— We will produce heat pump systems that will replace conventional boilers and will help achieve carbon neutrality in Europe. We chose Łódź because we were convinced that this region offered strong and stable foundations for long-term growth – emphasized the director of the Ksawery factory, Yasuto Hiraoka, during the ceremony.
Among the key advantages of the region, he mentioned the central geographic location, an excellent network of highways and expressways, and extensive academic resources guaranteeing qualified staff.
Currently, the plant operates one production line operated by over 100 people. Ultimately, however, after reaching full capacity, three lines will operate in Ksawerów, of which: 800,000 to 900,000 will come annually. pieces of heat pumps based on technologies from the research center in Genk, Belgium. The company is also considering the production of ventilation devices.

Gateway to Europe and alliance with Japan
Michał Jaros, Deputy Minister of Development and Technology, who was present at the opening, noted that such a powerful project proves that Poland is a real “gateway to Europe” for Asian companies. — Polish entrepreneurship combined with the Japanese philosophy of improvement will result in this factory building the potential of Daikin, but above all, the potential of the Polish economy. – said Jaros, pointing to climate goals and the geopolitical situation as motivators for change.
Paulina Hennig-Kloska, Minister of Climate and Environment, spoke in a similar tone. In a letter to the event participants, she called the factory “a symbol of modern thinking about development”. She emphasized that the investment perfectly illustrates the meaning of green transformation, combining care for the climate with improving the quality of life of citizens, and at the same time marks a new chapter in strategic Polish-Japanese cooperation.

Daikin, headquartered in Osaka, employs over 100,000 people globally. employees. In 2025, the company generated record revenue of EUR 28.6 billion, and the factory in Ksawerów joined the portfolio of 13 other European production plants of the giant.
