The Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor named the beneficial properties of celery and warned about the possible negative consequences of consuming this vegetable crop.
The main advantage of celery is its many vitamins – all its parts contain amino acids and microelements (boron, calcium, chlorine and others).
“Celery is rich in fiber, essential oils, vitamins A, E, K and group B. It helps eliminate drowsiness and apathy, and accelerate the elimination of toxic substances. The introduction of celery into the diet is a good prevention of age-related cardiovascular diseases,” experts said.
Despite the advantages, there are also disadvantages. Thus, celery can cause food allergies. It is necessary to limit or exclude it from the diet for pregnant and lactating women, as well as people with urolithiasis and stomach problems.
When choosing celery, you need to pay attention to its color – it should be green, without yellowness or black spots, the leaves and twigs should not be limp and dry. Fresh herbs have a pleasant and distinct smell.
