In Krasnoyarsk, the results of the festival-competition “Magic Ice of Siberia” among young people were summed up. Ten teams of young sculptors worked on the ice creations from January 6 to 11, the mayor’s office reported.

The award ceremony took place on Teatralnaya Square, the winners received cash prizes: 150,000, 100,000 and 70,000 rubles. The work “Flute Melody” by the Tuvan team “Irbish” was recognized as the best. The children carved a shepherd boy from ice who plays a musical instrument. They received not only high marks from the jury, but also an audience award.

“The sculpture symbolizes the culture of our region. We wanted to share a piece of it with the people of Krasnoyarsk. For example, the yak on which the boy is sitting is a traditional livestock and a symbol of life in Tuva, so we decided to depict it,” said team member Khapylan Subudai.

The second place was taken by the Podyolovye team from Khabarovsk. Brother and sister Daniil and Ulyana Abdulin are still in school, but they are already continuing the family dynasty of ice sculptors. They presented Krasnoyarsk with the composition “Tales by the Fire”. In the children's minds, an image arose of a father in a national costume telling a childhood story to his son, and mythical animals flying out of the fire.

The Chippchelinka team from Krasnoyarsk came in third. The sculpture “Tagar Deer” was created by 2nd year students of the Krasnoyarsk Art College. V.I. Surikova – Arina Surzhikova and Tuyana Tuman.

“The youth competition traditionally sets a high creative bar for the entire festival. For talented guys, it becomes the first serious step in their professional career. I thank all participants for the gift of beauty,” said Lyubov Sakharova, head of the main department of culture.

Today, January 12, professional masters have already picked up the baton. 30 teams from different parts of Russia took to Teatralnaya Square and the Central Embankment. For six days they will compete in the “Snow” and “Ice” categories in the “Realism” and “Abstraction” categories. The Magic Ice of Siberia festival will end on January 17.
