Salt is a thing of the past: 250 grams in the bath – minus 5 kg per course, swelling “merged” without training

By summer, many people dream of losing weight and getting rid of swelling. Instead of exhausting restrictions and hard training, you can choose a gentler path to lightness in the body – warm baths with baking soda. Yulia Matveeva, associate professor at Petrozavodsk State University, candidate of biological sciences, told the publication “rg.ru” (18+) about the method.

Why does a baking soda bath help you lose weight?

First, you need to understand that the human body is capable of holding from a couple to two dozen kilograms of excess water. Even a completely healthy person’s weight changes by one or two kilograms per day precisely because of hidden edema, and not because of fat.

Warm soda water gently launches the cleansing process: accelerates blood flow, stimulates metabolism and helps the lymphatic system more actively remove waste. As a result, excess weight falls off, muscle tension goes away, the skin becomes more elastic, and as a bonus, nails become stronger.

How to take a bath with baking soda

To get the maximum benefit and not overload the body, it is important to follow several recommendations:

The water should be pleasantly warm, around 36-38 degrees. Without a thermometer, rely on the sensations: the liquid should be slightly warmer than the body, but not burn.

You need to draw water so that it reaches the line of the heart, and it is important to leave your head and neck dry.

The duration of one session should not exceed 15 minutes. The procedure should be performed no more than once every two days in the evening, leaving the body time for natural recovery at night. A full course usually includes ten to fifteen sessions, after which a rest period of two to three weeks is required.

How to enrich water

The basic composition is extremely simple: dissolve 200-250 grams of soda in a small amount of hot water, and then pour the mixture into a filled bath.

But if you want to enhance the drainage effect, add salt in equal proportions with soda, starting with 100 grams and gradually increasing to 200. For additional benefits and a “marine” mood, just add ten drops of iodine.

And if you also need an anti-cellulite effect, then you can use “ether”. Five to seven drops of grapefruit or orange essential oil will help cope with skin unevenness.

But remember that it is important to stir any essential oil in a glass of milk, otherwise it will not dissolve, but remains a film on the water, which can burn the skin.

What to do after the procedure

After the session, be sure to rinse in a warm shower to wash away any remaining alkali and prevent the feeling of skin tightness. Then wrap yourself in soft home clothes, cover yourself with a blanket and lie warm for about half an hour. Finish the ritual with a cup of herbal tea or a glass of warm water with lemon: this will support lymphatic drainage and improve blood circulation.

When should you avoid taking a bath?

The specialist warns: despite the gentleness of the method, a soda bath is not suitable for everyone. It is better to avoid it in case of oncology, heart and vascular diseases, active form of tuberculosis, acute inflammation, severe atherosclerosis, tendency to thrombosis, pregnancy, open wounds, exacerbation of dermatological problems, excessive dry skin, fever and colds.

Important: even if you do not have chronic diseases, be sure to discuss the procedure with your doctor.
