Leaving the PSD parliamentary group and switching to the PNL: “I specify that I was not a member of the PSD”

Deputy Iosif-Florin Jianu announced, on Wednesday, that he is resigning from the PSD parliamentary group and continues his work with the PNLwrites Agerpres.

Iosif-Florin Jianu informed the Permanent Office of the Chamber of Deputies that, starting from Wednesday, he will continue his activity in the PNL parliamentary group.

Jianu is a deputy from Galati and was elected on the electoral lists of SOS Romania, and from June 2025 he joined the PSD group.

“Today I decided to join the Parliamentary Group of the National Liberal Party in the Chamber of Deputies. It is a decision taken, in a political context in which I believe that Romania needs stability, seriousness and a clear voice in favor of the European and Euro-Atlantic course of our country. I believe in a modern Romania, respected in the European Union, capable of defending its national interests through dialogue, investment, development and solid partnerships with our Western allies.

I specify the fact that I was not a member of the PSD, but a deputy affiliated with that parliamentary group, and the collaboration we have had so far has been institutional, based on projects and responsibility towards citizens. I will continue to support important projects for people, with the same seriousness and consistency, convinced that Romania needs less tension and more construction,” Jianu wrote on Facebook.
