The leaders of the Coalition meet again, on Wednesday, from 6:00 pm, to discuss again about the reform of the local administration that must be completed on Monday, as agreed with President Nicușor Dan.
The leaders of the PSD, PNL, USR and UDMR meet at the Victoria Palace to talk about the cuts in the local administration, which should have been part of the measures package for which the Government has employed its responsibility last week, but has been postponed.
It is the first meeting of the leaders after they were convened by President Nicușor Dan in a meeting in which the head of state asked them to no longer attack and complete the reform of the local administration until September 15.
Next, there are no consensus on the cuttings of the city halls and councils. The PSD claims that the expenses should be reduced, leaving the mayors to decide where they will cut the budget. On the other hand, Prime Minister Bolojan asks for a 10% discount on occupied positions, ie the dismissal of 13,000 employees.
At the last meeting of the coalition in which the cuttings from the town halls and county councils were discussed, Ilie Bolojan threatened with resignation.
“Centralize information from all over the country”
Last week, after the discussions in Cotroceni, a technical group was established that deals with the centralization of the data from the territory regarding the number of employees in each administrative-territorial unit. The PSD Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu, PNL Deputy Prime Minister, Cătălin Predoiu, the Secretary General Adjuct of the Government, Dan Resenec from the USR and Cseke Attila, the UDMR Minister of Development are the PSD Deputy Prime Minister of Development.
Marian Neacșu told Parliament on Tuesday that the centralization of data in the country started at the Ministry of Development.
“At this moment information from all over the country to the Ministry of Development is centralized. I saw a preliminary material that Minister Cseke me was sent in which it is a very clear x -ray of the staff situation in all localities in the country,” said PSD Deputy Prime Minister.
He also explained that the final form of the project of the reform of the local administration will be re -analyzed.
“If you want my opinion, it should be a reduction in expenses with salaries not an intrinsic reduction in the number of positions that this does not bring anything,” emphasizes Neacșu.
Tensions in the coalition
Even after Nicușor Dan asked them not to attack, the coalition tensions continue to exist. Just a few days after the meeting in Cotroceni, during the debates of the four censorship motions deposited by the gold, Sorin Grindeanu criticized Ilie Bolojan from the stands.
He told the prime minister that the PSD will not govern “with the pistol at the temple” and that Romania does not need extreme austerity.
“Romania does not need extreme austerity. We cannot pass with the bulldozer over the country, just cutting and leaving. The country does not lead with the scissors and the ax in the hands! adopted by Prime Minister Bolojan.
“It does not go with ultimatums and threats in front of the PSD. We do not govern with the pistol at the temple. We will continue to say that Romania needs a clear direction, no matter how disturbing. We do not scare ourselves and we do not let ourselves!”, Continued the PSD leader.
