A new online fraud: “Mysterious box” notino of 15.50 lei, which can leave you without the money on the card / DNSC recommendations

Facebook captures about the “mysterious box” notino.
The “mysterious box from Notino” returned to social networks, after in May the brand was targeted by a similar fraud attempt. A “sponsored” post on Facebook of a page created on the same day urges the followers to enter a link and order the box with only 15.50 lei. In the pictures appear the products that cost hundreds of lei.
The announcement that promotes fraud was posted on Facebook Monday on Monday, in which the user writes that her mother worked for seven years in Notino and was dismissed on health grounds and therefore presents to the followers the secret of the “mysterious box”.

“The company has a contract with the producers, which are obliged to gather every month beauty boxes to receive opinions about different products. These boxes can be found in a hidden section on their site-you just have to answer a few questions … But they keep this secret because employees want to keep beauty products for them,” writes Facebook.
The user recommends the followers to enter the link left in the posting comments and answer a few questions.
At the time of publishing the article, the post had 31 comments in Romanian from people with foreign names such as Mathias Eriq, Maria Petrova, Karolina Peterková, Lidija Barukčić and Mira Marinkovic – another indication indicating a false. They write that they also ordered the box and put pictures with the ordered products.

In May, another version of the same fraud, the “mysterious box”, circulated on social networks. Then, the company Notino sent a message to the official Facebook account in which he warned his customers that that campaign does not belong to the brand and urged them not to enter personal data.
Hotnews tried to contact Notino, on the occasion of the new version of the fraud that uses their names, but, until the time of publication, the company did not respond to the requests.
DNSC recommends reporting to networks of fraud attempts
Contacted by Hotnews, Mihai Rotariu, the spokesman of the National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), says that most likely it is “a scam”.
“This scheme is quite used by the attackers in the online environment: a website or a Facebook or social media page that copy the visual identity of the mother brand, original, and launch all kinds of competitions, prizes for different services and you get to give your personal or financial data. Because in the end, I usually have to pay for the product, and what you have to pay for the product The attackers, “said Rotariu.
The DNSC representative recommends users to refer to META when they see such posts.
“Now, the result of the respective reporting I cannot guarantee it will be a positive one because on social media platforms, most analyzes that are done on reports are made automated, and the attackers know how to sand the respective tools, so that they are not blocked so easily.”
And DNSC makes reports to social networks, the spokesman explained, following that if they do not receive an answer that the content has been eliminated, “we can send further to ANCOM, and ANCOM can make a thorough report that I send later to the European Commission.”
