INSCOP survey: Almost half of Romanians believe that Nicușor Dan is trying to reduce political tensions. How Bolojan is rated

Almost half of Romanians believe that President Nicușor Dan tried, through his recent public positions, to reduce tensions between parties and political leaders, according to the latest INSCOP survey, conducted between May 11-14, 2026.

The survey data show that 49.2% of respondents believe that the head of state acted to reduce misunderstandings in the political scene, while 36.3% believe the opposite, namely that he contributed to the amplification of conflicts between parties and political leaders. Another 14.6% did not provide an answer.
The director of INSCOP Research, Remus Ștefureac, states that the public perception of the president is strongly influenced by the political options of the respondents.
“Half of the Romanians believe that through the public positions expressed during this period, President Nicușor Dan acted to reduce the misunderstandings between the parties and political leaders, and a third believe the opposite, namely that he acted to amplify the misunderstandings between the parties and political leaders”, he declared.

According to the sociological analysis, PSD, PNL and USR voters tend to believe in a higher proportion than the average that the president tried to play a mediating role. Conversely, AUR voters are the most critical and believe, to a significantly greater extent, that the head of state has exacerbated political conflicts.
High level of dissatisfaction with Nicușor Dan's activity
Regarding the activity of the president, the survey indicates a divided public opinion, but dominated by dissatisfaction. Only 27.6% of Romanians say they are very or quite satisfied with Nicușor Dan's activity as president, of which 4.4% declare themselves very satisfied and 23.2% quite satisfied.
On the other hand, 70.5% of respondents say they are dissatisfied: 27.7% declare themselves quite dissatisfied, and 42.8% very dissatisfied.
The most satisfied with the president's activity are PSD, PNL and USR voters, young people under 30, people over 60, those with higher education and residents of Bucharest or big cities. On the other hand, dissatisfaction is higher among AUR voters, people between 30 and 44 years old, those with primary education and residents of rural areas or small towns.
How Romanians evaluate Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan
The survey also measures the perception of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's work. According to the data, 30.5% of Romanians declare themselves satisfied with its activity, of which 8% are very satisfied and 17.7% quite satisfied.
At the same time, almost 68% of respondents state that they are dissatisfied: 20.2% quite dissatisfied and 47.7% very dissatisfied.
The highest support for the prime minister comes from PNL and USR voters, people with higher education, residents of Bucharest and big cities and employees in the private sector. At the opposite pole, the most dissatisfied are PSD and AUR voters, the elderly and those from rural areas.
The Informat.ro – INSCOP Research barometer was conducted through telephone interviews (CATI), on a sample of 1,100 adults, representative at the national level. The maximum margin of error is ±3% at a 95% confidence level.
