An excess of microbes in the air was found at a Krasnoyarsk poultry farm

March 19 12:59

Specialists from the Krasnoyarsk branch of the CSC AIC checked the air quality at food production facilities in the region. During this year, they took 24 samples in workshops and refrigerators and performed 78 studies.

Samples were taken using the Koch method – microorganisms from the air naturally settled onto a nutrient medium in Petri dishes, after which the samples were studied in the laboratory. Eight samples were taken at poultry farms – in egg warehouses, incubators and slaughterhouses. Another 16 are in meat and fish processing facilities.

In one sample from a poultry farm, an excess of the total microbial count was found. This indicator does not cause dangerous diseases, but signals the need for unscheduled disinfection of premises. The remaining samples met the standards.
